National Records of Scotland

The contract, which will run until 2029, and comes with two one-year extensions, will see Lovat’s Group providing electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fabric planned and reactive maintenance, 24/7 helpdesk and emergency services, energy management, and project and minor works management.

The National Records of Scotland (NRS) is a non-ministerial department of the Scottish Government that supports the Registrar General for Scotland and the Keeper of the Records of Scotland. Its primary objective is to collect, preserve and disseminate information about Scotland’s people and history, with a view to informing present and future generations.

NRS manages a range of properties, including four buildings, a mix of Category ‘A’ listed structures of exceptional architectural and historical significance within the Edinburgh New Town Conservation Area and World Heritage Site, and a purpose-built archive storage facility. In essence, NRS fulfils a crucial role in preserving the past, recording the present, and informing the future.
